What does it mean to be an IDEAL person? Who do you consider to be an IDEAL person? Years ago, when searching for a new home, I came across a builder whose design phrase was “Your Ideal of a Home.” This phrase caught my attention and led me to choose this builder over others despite many appealing homes nearby.
IDEAL = “a standard of perfection, as in perfect, being entirely without fault or flaw.”
At first, with everything brand new, it was my perfect Ideal home! However, construction defects, plumbing issues, and other problems began to surface over time. Although these issues could be fixed, my home was no longer perfect. It had imperfections!
Similarly, No Person Is Without Imperfections
As the two most significant holiday seasons approach, we put much effort into perfecting our homes and meals for family and friends.
However, as we spend time together this season in our picture-perfect decorated home, classic meals, and the most elite ambiance, we will inevitably start to notice some imperfections and faults with some of our family and friends that will indeed trigger our own.
We Are Gathering With the Purpose of Being Together
So, let’s cherish these moments despite differences and imperfections. Let’s remember to be kind, patient, understanding, AND forgiving. We can’t change people, but we can initiate change within ourselves!
“Be kind and helpful to one another, tender-hearted [compassionate, understanding], forgiving one another [readily and freely], just as God in Christ also forgave you.” (Eph. 4:32)
SHOW LOVE, GIVE LOVE
“So I give you a new command: Love each other deeply and fully. Remember the ways that I have loved you, and demonstrate your love for others in those same ways.” (John 13:34)

Thank you for traveling on my journey with me. May God bless you and keep you safe!
Sincerely
Jacqui
