Recently, I heard someone say, “No More In 2024!” This declaration made me reflect on my own “no more” decision. One of the things I want to cease doing is resisting changes for a prolonged period. While adjusting to new things is challenging, I have decided to start making minor changes to certain routines that are easier to manage.
I like to refer to these minor changes as “a Shift.” One definition of “shift” is: “To (cause something or someone to) move or change from one position or direction to another, especially slightly.”
The part of this definition that I emphasize is slightly. It refers to making minor adjustments and tweaks that may not be readily noticeable but can significantly impact the outcome.
SHIFTING IS NECESSARY
When I hear “shift,” I immediately think of the shifting of gears while driving a car. For example, when driving up and down hills, you have to shift gears differently to maintain the car’s power. If you don’t shift gears, the vehicle may have less power, stall, or even roll backward.
Likewise, in 2024, if we are unwilling to make slight changes, it can cause us to have less power and ultimately stall or even move backward.
CHANGING YOUR PERSPECTIVE
Change is an inevitable aspect of life. However, by shifting our perception, we can significantly impact the direction of our lives. Whether it feels like a towering mountain or a small hill, the best approach to reaching our goals is to take one step at a time.
TRUSTING GOD WITH and IN EVERY CHANGE
Begin every shift with a prayer of faith, knowing God has perfect timing and direction for even minor adjustments. God is always there to help us with the shift! Be confident!
“I am sure that God Who began the good work in you will keep on working in you until the day Jesus Christ comes again.” (Phil. 1:6)
I’ve listed a few of my favorite scriptures to help me on my journey as I make the necessary shifts in 2024.
“The steps of good men are directed by the Lord. He delights in each step they take.” (Prov. 37:23)
“I will instruct you and teach you about the direction you should go. I’ll advise you and keep my eye on you.” (Prov. 32:8)
“Your word is a lamp to walk by, and a light to illumine my path.” (Ps. 119:105)
“A man’s mind plans his way [as he journeys through life], But the Lord directs his steps and establishes them.” (Prov. 16:9)
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Thank you for sharing the journey with me. This year, I believe God is opening many remarkable doors for us. Let’s walk boldly through them. God is on our side!
Love Never Fails…
Sincerely,
Jacqui
