How many times I have said the words, “I thought.” I thought everything worked out; I thought I would surely get that promotion this time. I thought I would have a job by now. I thought I would be better by this time. I thought my marriage would be better by now, or I would be married by now. I thought I would be out of debt by now. Fill in the blanks, but whatever the situation, the “I thought” can cause confusion and frustration.
“I” =represents a subject, a person who performs an action
Thought = something (such as an opinion or belief) in the mind
Even with a well-designed plan, these two simple words can hinder our peace and well-being. Sometimes we need to get out of our heads!
The Lord says, “This plan of mine is not what you would work out, neither are My thoughts the same as yours! For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than yours, and My thoughts than yours.” (Isa. 55:8-9)
As long as I rely on my thoughts about a situation, I’m setting myself up for disappointment or a delay. So when I start thinking, the “I thought,” I’m learning to quickly readjust my thinking to, “Okay, who’s in charge and control?” Is the “I” me, or is it God?
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know.” (Prov. 3:5)
BLIND SPOT
In driving, a blind spot is an area around your vehicle that you, the driver, cannot see without taking your eyes off the road. They can prevent you from noticing other events around you.
CHANGE YOUR POSITION
Just as driving a vehicle, you can’t see around the entire car because of your blind spot position, so your view is obstructed; it is the same with the “I thought.” The problem is not with the thought but the “I.” It’s in the wrong position. God must be the only One in the first position, not us. He’s The only One who can see a situation from every angle. He has no blind spots and knows the end from the beginning, which is planned for our good!
“And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.” (Rom. 8:28)
May you have a wonderful day, and remember that even with our best-thought-out plan, God has the final outcome. God’s Got this! Thank you for traveling with me on my journey! God Bless and I pray His Best for you always!
Sincerely,
Jacqui

This is so beautifully written! Never thought Life in this way! This completely changes my perspective on how I look at life. God is in control. And he know the plans he has for his children, and that we are not in control as we put our Trust & Faith in him.The fact that in my own life, the what if’s, the why’s….”I” is in the wrong position and learning that I get in my own way. I realize that it’s important to lean not on my own understanding. Wow! What a whole different perspective and how sometimes it’s easier to just totally surrender and Let go and Let God. Fear says what if, Faith says even if. Trust in God! This really helped put things in perspective! Thank you! This was divinely inspired, written!!
Hello Britany!
“Thank you” for the kind remarks! Yes, I’m learning to keep my “eyes” off of me and more on Him, Jesus, as I grow and travel with Him. Again, thank you for coming along with me and sharing your story. I appreciate you! May The Lord God continue to bless your life abundantly! Amen!
