Starting to write this post was a bit challenging for me since my mind was filled with countless thoughts about the current state of the world. Although I am not without Hope, I feel sad about the worldwide disorder and confusion. Every corner of the globe seems to be experiencing some turmoil.
To help manage my emotions, I turned to my Bible and re-read a few of my previous posts for encouragement. One that stood out to me was the “Comforting Words” post I wrote in May of 2021. It references Psalm 23, and one part of the post says, “He (God) reinvigorates us when we are exhausted (our minds and body) and weary and encourages us when feeling overwhelmed with concerns around us.”
Moreover, two particular verses (one and two) of that Psalm spoke to me, saying that God is “My Rest and Refreshment, and My Strengthener and Restorer.”
These are HOPE-full words for any Chaos. God is:
Our(my) REST
Our(my) REFRESHMENT
Our(my) STRENGTHENER
Our (my) RESTORER
Jesus is the God of Hope, regardless of disorder or chaos.
After reading my Bible and my post, I recalled one of my favorite scriptures that always helps to calm my anxious thoughts and uplift my spirit. After reading it, it added even more comfort to me. The scripture is Romans 15:13, and I have provided four different translations for better readability.
“Our hope comes from God. May He fill you with joy and peace because of your trust in Him. May your hope grow stronger by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Rom. 15:13) NIV Version
Now the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in Hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. (Rom. 15:13) KJV Version
“May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace in your faith, that by the power of the Holy Spirit, your whole life and outlook may be radiant with hope.” (Rom 15:13) Phillips Version
“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Rom. 15:13) NLT Version
Thank you for journeying me, and I pray you have been encouraged by God’s Hope by this post. May God Bless you and keep you and your loved ones safe.
Sincerely,
Jacqui
