We all have said at one time or another, “Well, this is my perspective. Let’s put this into perspective, or What’s your perspective?” In earlier posts, I would conclude my thoughts with a paragraph titled “Perspective.” Can there be more than one perspective? How would you know which is correct?
A Perspective “is a mental view or a position from which something is considered or evaluated.”
A biblical definition of perspective is “God’s view of His entire creation, unbounded by time or place” (Senga Vang).
I am a huge fan of suspense thriller movies, especially “Vantage Point.” The story recounts a series of events narrated from multiple perspectives to reveal a truthful account of what happened. You need to see each perspective to fully grasp the various nuances and understand how they fit together to influence the situation’s outcome.
A synopsis could provide a snapshot or summary of events, but that could lead to incorrect conclusions or assumptions.
“Any story sounds true until someone tells the other side and sets the record straight.” (Prov.18:17)
A CLEAR PERSPECTIVE
Sometimes, having a clear perspective is like having the “big picture” of something, including all the details. For example, imagine a jigsaw puzzle box. You empty it, and numerous pieces spill out, but the cover doesn’t show a completed puzzle image. You start anyway, believing you have all the necessary pieces, and begin trying to fit them together; some fit, and some don’t.
After a while, it becomes frustrating because you don’t know what the picture is supposed to look like. The “big picture” or completed picture would greatly simplify everything.
“God made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before Him.
When I got my act together, He gave me a fresh start.” (Ps. 18:20)
To Obtain A Clear Perspective, You Need To Have The Right Perspective
“Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.” (Isa. 46:10)
GOD’S VANTAGE POINT
Having the proper perspective means viewing the present reality through a specific lens. That lens or viewpoint is seen through God’s eyes. He is the only one with a clear, complete, and perfect understanding of everything. From every vantage point and angle, He has the entire picture, the past, present, and future, not just a snapshot of our lives.
“Call to Me, and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand).” (Jer. 33:3)
Many experiences will test our faith, but no matter how deeply it is shaken, God will never change His view of us or His position on our expected victorious outcome. If we are viewing a situation or life through worry, fear, or doubt, we’re looking through the wrong lens. When we ask and trust Him, He helps us adjust our perspective to align with His. Trust Him and only believe.
“And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.”
A Clear Perspective Is the Right Perspective When It Aligns with God’s Perspective.
Thank you for sharing this journey of faith with me. May God bless you and keep you safe. Always look up and never down. Love Never Fails…
Sincerely,
Jacqui
