FOREVER GIFTS
To us, a child is born, a Gift is given! There’s no better way to start or end this month or year than by recognizing and being grateful for the Gift(s) we already have.
At Christmas, lots of attention and money is given to giving and receiving gifts that may last for a few years or a few minutes! But this Christmas, I want to focus on perfectly rewrapped gifts that will last forever.
They are the unseen gifts inside us that only become seen when we give them to others, which can be opened anytime and anywhere. Gifts that we may not have yet opened.
GIFTS OF THE HEART
In the past couple of months, I had the honor of giving a particular gift to a much loved and beautiful dear friend. It was the perfect gift given at the perfect time. It was a gift that was given in an unassuming manner and was received with gratitude and a smile.
This gift is called compassion. I’m sure you’ve seen this gift many times. You probably have felt it in your heart. This gift is always exquisitely encased with incredible wrappings of Love, Grace, and Humility.
I’ve had this gift for a long time, but I never saw it as a gift. I saw it only as a sincere desire to help others in need.
However, in the few months, while being with my Beloved friend, I was given a better understanding of the meaning of the “gift of compassion” and how it was working in me.
This new understanding showed me how The power of God would enable you to carry out uncomfortable and challenging tasks when needed.
I thank God for Holy Spirit, who helps us unwarp, reveal and use gifts or treasures that are in us which can be given and used repeatedly and can never be over-used, become outdated or lose their value. Both the giver and receiver profit from this gift.
“…And if you have the gift of showing compassion, then flourish in your cheerful display of compassion.” (Rom. 12:6-8)
PERSPECTIVE
This Christmas holiday season, let’s ask God to reveal Gifts we can give that will last further than the days or months after the Christmas season. Gifts that are birthed in the heart, gifts that won’t cause us anything except Love, grace, and humbleness.
The Gift of Compassion, motivated by Love, brought the Christmas season into existence.
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isa. 9:6)
May Jesus be in your heart this Christmas and always! Thank you for going on this journey with me. May God bless you and your family!
Sincerely,
Jacqui
