What do you do when you don’t know what to do? What do you do when life around you becomes more chaotic? What do you do when moving forward with absolute certainty, conquering every obstacle, and then something unexpected happens that stops everything?
Two words: Wisdom and Courage.
Wisdom = is being able to discern the best use of your information.
But Wisdom is “not” just information, acquired knowledge, or especially your own reasoning!
I am in the beginning stages of selling my home. I have acquired two well-established, trained, and very knowledgeable realtors; I trust them, their judgment, and the accuracy of the information they have provided me. I have various certificates, diplomas, degrees, plaques of achievements, and life experience supporting further planning and decision-making.
However, even with all this information, I still feel unsure and inadequate? I need more guidance in the decision-making and the many directions I could take to get me to my desired end.
“I will instruct you (says the Lord) and guide you along the best pathway for your life; I will advise you and watch your progress.” (Ps. 32:8)TLB Whew! Thank God I don’t have to figure this out alone!
Uncertainty
Some decisions are easy, not requiring deep thought or time, but others need more insight to make the right decision. There’s a story in the Bible about a King named Solomon who was asked to judge a difficult and uncertain situation. Some scholars say the situation was probably put before others, but they couldn’t decide. (1 Kings 3:16-28)
Chaos
The story involves two women who lived in the same household and had birthed a baby within a few days of each other, but one baby was smothered and died during the night. One woman said that while sleeping, the other woman woke and found her baby dead; she then switched her dead baby with her live baby. Both women insistently, passionately, and argumentatively claim to be the mother of the living baby.
WISDOM
Our human Wisdom is limited to our five senses. But Godly Wisdom is like a Supernatural laser beam that can and will penetrate anything so that you can see through any possible filters, distinguish the right instructions, and determine which direction you should take.
After listening and being unable to decide the truth by their constant exchange, the king said, “Bring me a sword.” They brought a sword for the king. He then gave an order: “Cut the living baby in two and give half to one and a half to the other.” The first woman said, no, don’t kill him. Give the whole baby to her. But the second woman said no, kill him. The King said, okay, no one will kill this baby; the first woman is the birth mother, give her the baby.
COURAGE
Courage = the confidence and boldness to walk in the Wisdom you receive.
This is not always easy because Wisdom can be the discovery of truth a step at a time. Sometimes, making that step can be fearful. It takes courage to step out of your comfort zone when what you are told to do is unfamiliar.
“Do you have the courage to act outwardly on what you see inwardly?” T.D. Jakes
“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Jos.1:9) NLT
PERSPECTIVE
“If you don’t have all the wisdom needed for this journey, then all you have to do is ask God for it, and God will grant all that you need. He gives lavishly and never scolds you for asking.” (Jas.1:5) Voice
How often have I misjudged someone or a situation because “I thought” I had enough or all the information? With this upcoming move, God has given me ONLY one step at a time, not TWO, one! I have to rely on His Wisdom to be ready for the next step and to accomplish His will in this present transition.
Note: God gave Solomon Wisdom, which I’ll discuss in my next blog post. This is the reason why he was able to know how to reach the Truth.
“…This is what we pray: that God will make you completely sure of what he wants by giving you all the Wisdom and Spiritual understanding you need;” (Colo. 1:9) ERV.
In this world of chaotic change, the uncertainty of what can happen next can be overwhelming. But our lives don’t have to be in disorder or uncertain. So ask Him for Wisdom and the Courage to walk in what He tells you to do! God is The Master Strategist, and His Wisdom is the undisputable Supreme strategy from heaven.
“I declare from the beginning how it will end and foretell from the start what has not yet happened. I decree that my purpose will stand, and I will fulfill my every plan”. (Isa. 46:10) TPT
Thank you for walking with me on my journey. I pray The Lord Jesus Blesses you with more Wisdom, Courage, and understanding.
