WORRY FREE, what does that mean? While researching this topic, I found an interesting article titled “The Power of Worry-Free Slogans: Why They Matter.” The article (Worry-Free Slogan Ideas) listed over 80 slogans about not worrying. It went on to say that, in part, the slogan’s primary purpose is to provide consumers with a feeling of security and trust, thereby putting them at ease.
It said that these worry-free slogans are valuable tools that help companies build loyalty and establish themselves as trustworthy industry leaders. Let’s look at what is Worry.
WORRY
It is “to afflict with mental distress or agitation resulting from concern usually for something impending or anticipated: to feel or experience concern or anxiety: to trouble; to fatigue.”
Unfortunately, one could almost say I’m an expert on this subject. I didn’t know then, but I was a chronic worrier when I was younger. To look at me, you couldn’t tell, but on the inside, I experienced the entire definition, which resulted in me developing a chronic health problem. Worrying was the tool I used for trust and security whenever I faced challenging situations or the ups and downs of life.
WHY WE WORRY
Worry is a learned response and a condition of the heart and mind. Life is full of ups and downs, and everyone faces challenging situations. However, worrying should not be your go-to response for dealing with them.
FREE FROM WORRY
There is only one reliable way to live a worry-free life: “Trusting God.” No slogan, no matter how catchy, can take the place of a Word from God to you! The chronic health condition, the mental anguish, and the fatigue I experienced are gone. Worry causes sickness, and I am now free of Worry and sickness!
DON’T FRET ABOUT IT; PRAY ABOUT IT, and GIVE IT TO GOD
“Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.”
(Phil.4:6)
“Turn your worries over to the Lord. He will keep you going. He will never let godly people be shaken.” (Ps. 55:22)
“For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.” (Luke 1:37)
“The weight of worry drags us down, but a good word lightens our day.” (Prov. 12:25)
“Don’t worry—I am with you. Don’t be afraid—I am your God. I will make you strong and help you. I will support you with my right hand that brings victory.” (Isa. 41:10)
TRUST GOD
“Secure Trust Is The Lord Who Is A Reliable Object Of Confidence.” (Footnote: New Eng. Translation)
“TRUST in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding.
Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight.” (Prov. 3:5-6)
While “worry-free” slogans may be attractive and attention-grabbing, they cannot offer the same level of lasting security, trust, loyalty, and ease that comes from the Word of God. As my Pastor emphasizes, “The Bible is God speaking to me.” God’s Word provides more than just temporary slogans; they offer life-giving and enduring Truths.
Saying and meditating on the scriptures above can help you gain freedom from the bondage of Worry. We were never supposed to face life challenges ill-equipped, and we don’t have to. Worry-Free, Security, Trust, and Ease = Jesus!
