If you Google, as I did, anything about “love,” you’ll find many different topics, meanings, examples, books, poems, how to look for it, find it, and ways to keep it. Some topics include: “Three loves theory; the three C’s of love; the seven steps of love; True signs of love” … The list is endless! One interesting topic I saw said, “You will fall in love three times in your life.” How predictable is that!
“HOLIDAY” LOVE
Like most holidays, stores and ads highlight the month’s celebration. For February, it’s Valentine’s Day and the theme of “love.” Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and in some states, Sweetest Day, are what I call “holiday” love months! Flowers, cards, boxes of candy, jewelry, and more are wonderful expressions of sentiment. But I believe the true meaning of genuine, authentic love can get lost in all the bright, exaggerated packaging.
This is where I believe some people become delusional, thinking that this is what “real love” is, how it should be demonstrated, and proof that they are loved and valued.
Things Do Not Define Your Value
FOREVER LOVE
For those of us who don’t currently have a “love of our life,” or who desire one, or who have never experienced one, I want to reassure you that we all have an “endless true love”! Someone who loves us not in steps or theory, not based on how we look, or what we have or don’t have, our performance, or whether we’re too young or too old by certain standards.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with exploring the various topics on love mentioned above, but their perspective might be questionable.
Nothing But God’s Love Endures Forever
Additionally, books, articles, and similar writings can never fully capture the essence of true love. The only genuine, proven way to understand what committed love truly is and to know that you are loved completely and forever is by knowing God.
Today, let yourself be loved by God’s extravagant love, admiration, kindness, and caring attention.
FIVE TRUTHS THAT YOU ARE LOVED:
1. You Have a Proven Love
“But God ·shows [demonstrates; proves] his ·great [ own] love for us (you) in this way: Christ died for us while we were still sinners.”
(Rom. 5:8)
2. You Have an Endless Love
“Nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us (you) from the [unlimited] love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
(Rom. 8:39)
3. You Have an Unconditional Love
“For God expressed His love for the world (you) in this way: He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him will not face everlasting destruction, but will have everlasting life.”
(John 3:16)
4. You Have a Protected Love
“And I give them eternal life, and they will never, ever [by any means] perish; and no one will ever snatch them (you) out of My hand.”
(John 10:28)
5. You Have a Secure Love
“Do not yield to fear, for I am always near. Never turn your gaze from me, for I am your faithful God.
I will infuse you with my strength and help you in every situation.
I will hold you firmly with my victorious right hand.”
(Isa. 41:10)
God’s love will never fail, disappoint, or stop loving you. You will always be celebrated, regardless of the day or month. Because God is love, enjoy this month and beyond, knowing confidently that you are forever His Beloved Valentine, year-round!
