THE “LIGHT” EFFECT IN A DIAMOND

Uncategorized

I really love shiny objects—like glass, mirrors, various medals, and water—that reflect light. The way light bounces off them and creates a beautiful display of reflected light always makes me smile. However, I especially like diamonds because they seem to shimmer even brighter when light hits them immediately. It doesn’t matter how big or small they are; they will catch my attention.

A Diamond and A Christian’s Diamond Journey

“A Diamond in The Rough”

We all recognize the phrase, “A Diamond in the Rough.” It’s often used to describe someone or something that seems ordinary or unfinished but actually has hidden or unrecognized qualities or abilities. (R. Baker)

The Process of Light Development in a Diamond

Before diamonds become the stunning, admired stones we see on display, they start out looking like ordinary rocks covered in dirt. A rough diamond shows no light.

NOTE: This is how dull and dirty we are BEFORE being transformed by God’s Mercy, Grace, and Love.

The development of diamonds is a complex and fascinating process that begins deep within the Earth’s core, beneath its surface. The process involves precise cutting and high-quality polishing. The polishing affects its ability to reflect light effectively.

A beautifully framed mirror is pleasant to look at and admire, but if the glass becomes dirty, the reflection may look dull or distorted. A well-polished diamond is like a clear mirror — just as polishing or refining our hearts helps us shine and reflect light better.

Just as a high polish enhances a diamond’s shine, the Word of God brightens our inner light for others.

“In the same way, let your light shine before people, so they can see the good things you do and praise your Father who is in heaven.” (Matt. 5:16)

Similarities of a—

Rough Diamond:

-Resemble ordinary rocks = A Natural state

-Jagged edges = Sharp to the touch

-Limited light distribution = Light is diffused or scattered -Dullness = No light reflection

Rough Christian:

-Resemble ordinary rocks = Not knowing Who you are In Christ

-Jagged edges = Resisting guidance and correction

-Limited light distribution = Doubt and Unbelief

-Dullness = Moved away from God

The good thing is that all the traits listed above for a rough Christian are fixable.

How to Get Your Shine Back and Let the Transformation Begin!

1. Accurately know who you are In Christ.

“… for God himself has chosen you—you are priests of the King, you are holy and pure, you are God’s very own—all this so that you may show to others how God called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.” (1 Peter 2:9)

2. Let God’s polishing and correction smooth out rough patches, and His Word penetrate every dark corner to eliminate doubt and unbelief.

“Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.” (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

3. Ask God to help you renew your mind so you stop seeing yourself or circumstances through dull or cracked mirrors.

“Your eyes are windows into your body. If you open your eyes wide in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light.” (Matt 6:22)

“But when you ask God, you must believe. Do not doubt God. Anyone who doubts is like a wave in the sea. The wind blows the wave up and down.” (James 1:6)

4. Spend more time studying God’s Word so that your reflection and character increasingly mirror God’s Truth about you.

“If you listen to the Word and don’t live out the message you hear, you become like the person who looks in the mirror of the Word to discover the reflection of his face in the beginning.” (James 1:23-25)

“I will offer You my grateful heart, for I am Your unique creation, filled with wonder and awe. You have approached even the smallest details with excellence; Your works are wonderful; I carry this knowledge deep within my soul.” (Ps. 139:14)

A “Diamond’s Light Effect” Is a Journey of Perseverance and Faith In God

The word “diamond” comes from the Greek word “adamas,” which means “unconquerable” or invincible.

The term “overcomer” comes from the Greek, “to conquer, prevail, triumph, and overcome!”

With so many traumatic events happening quickly around us today, they can cause us to feel uncertain, fearful, and confused, which can shake our confidence in God’s sovereignty. This may lead us to doubt the Truth that He is good and faithful or cause us to pull back from trusting His Love and Wisdom in every situation.

HOWEVER…THIS is what we SHOULD remember…

“We are pressed on every side by troubles, but not crushed and broken. We are perplexed because we don’t know why things happen as they do, but quitting is not an option. We are hunted down, but God never abandons us. We get knocked down, but we get up again and keep going.” (2 Cor. 4-9)

Write down the four gems above to remind yourself that God is your Best Friend, not diamonds!  The Glow of His Love will NEVER Fade!

Our Eternal process, ongoing journey, holds the brilliant Light of God’s glory, Jesus Christ, which makes us Overcomers. He IS The True treasure, and we are His Treasure! He loves you!! So, Never Fear, God is Always Near.

If you haven’t already, ask Jesus into your heart today! It’s never too late, until you don’t…

Thank you for journeying with me! Let me know if you have any questions! Love Never Fails…

Sincerely,

Jacqui
